Recording Continues

Dave and Aaron are back it, working on the recording process after a brief hiatus. Aaron welcomed his baby girl into the world and shortly after stepped back into the studio to get bass laid down.

Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.

The tools.

Stay tuned for more coming soon. Bass is done. Currently keys are being recorded along with some additional strings.

We'll keep you posted as the process and progress continue.

Dave Finds Tone

While Aaron prepares for the birth of his daughter, Dave travels to the most remote region of one of the hottest areas on earth in search of pure guitar tone. Actually, Dave just went to a family reunion in west Tennessee where his mother-in-law suggested a post barbeque lunch excursion, across the street, to the local junk store where located on the floor of an almost overlooked room lie a very dirty 1967 Ampeg Gemini 2 guitar amp. After picking up his jaw he offered the owner $30 and in the car it went, delivered to the car ... by the owner!

After bass tracking is complete and after a thorough cleaning the hope is to record a good deal of the guitars through this amp. It is somewhere between a Deluxe Reverb and a Twin, without the overpowering volume. It purportedly hosts one of the greatest reverb circuits ever made.
This means rich layers of smooth dark chocolate between each byte of recorded goodness!

Stay tuned for more updates ...

Recording Resumes! - Bass

Dave and Aaron finally decide to take matters into their own hand, spend a bunch-o-money and finish their project! With Davey Staton's drum tracks recorded at Glow In The Dark and tons of tinkering the currently 2-piece have begun finishing their long awaited release. Hopefully this will be something worthy of a place in your iPod very very soon!

Here Aaron shows off his amazing ability to play a bizarrely tuned bass while simultaneously leaning into the shot of an obviously staged photograph.

Here, most likely Aaron and Dave are running down some bass tracks in Logic. Note that Aaron is indeed playing a chord on the bass, yes folks a chord.

Below Dave is staring at the screen probably dowsing every track with modulated delay. For all you geeks out there that is indeed a 4G Seagate SCSI Hawk drive on top of the rack on the right.

Here is what fell out onto the desk: Earbud foam, guitar picks, bottle cap and a USB-to-PS2 adapter. This symbolically represents See Seven State's affinity for guitars, computers, Coca-Cola and hearing protection.

Recording drums

We currently in pre-production to do a decent iTunes-worthy release this year. We have borrowed see seven states original drummer Mr. Davey Staton to track some real live drums at a real live studio in the ATL. Although Mr. Aaron Siller is known nationally as "THE one-take wonder" , Mr. Staton did after all have a drum machine named after him. Meanwhile the Lord has continued to bless us with time off from work to prepare for a busy and productive year ahead. So don't close your web browser, see seven states will be back to spin more hits your way!
